Elyse Schwartz, Psy.D., LMHC.
Dr. Schwartz is an empathic and motivated therapist who combines experience with compassion to help clients meet their challenges while improving their mental well-being. She practices Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as other integrative therapeutic approaches.
She began her career over 17 years ago, working with children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders. Dr. Schwartz specializes in deliberate self-harming behaviors, trauma issues, and substance use disorders. She also worked as a therapist at a private foster care agency, working closely with the juvenile justice system, family courts, drug courts and school districts.
Dr. Schwartz holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University; obtained a Master of Arts in Mental Health and Professional Counseling from Argosy University; earned a Bachelor of Art in Communication from the University of South Florida; is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC); and has certification in EMDR and TF-CBT, as well as training in creative and expressive therapies.
