“The Bridge” Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a 60- to 120-day program (based on client goals and progress) that provides at least 12 hours per week of treatment. The Program allows clients gradually to transit from a higher level of care that they had received in our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), to living on their own.
We provide a unique treatment approach – a combination of Personalized Care, “Mind, Body and Spirit” approach, Tools & Skills and High Staff-to-client ratio.
This approach can provide the highest chance of long-term treatment success and give the needed tools for living a functional happy life.
What to expect from the Treatment?
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) gives clients the opportunity to continue living in a safe, structured environment and work in the community while attending treatment.
The purpose is to stabilize psychiatric symptoms, establish a foundation of skills essential to the long-term success of the individual, and practice them in the real world under care and supervision.
Every patient will participate in a group, individual, and behavioral therapy. Clients in the IOP are encouraged to engage in additional family/couples therapy.
This comprehensive approach to the treatment plan is designed to help the patient return to a more functional and healthy life.
Types of Treatment
During group, individual and family therapy sessions facilitated by experienced addiction treatment professionals, clients are exposed to a variety of evidence-based therapy techniques, including:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Systemic Therapies (e.g., Solution Focused Brief Therapy)
- Individual Therapy
- Group Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Replacement)
- Medication Management (under the supervision of Licensed Psychiatrist)
- Holistic therapies: biofeedback chair, massage therapy, yoga, art
Clients will receive the necessary tools to enhance the progress they made during PHP treatment.
Everyone is different and thus the client receives a personalized treatment.
At Meridian Mental Health there is no “One size fits all”. We take the time to develop the treatment plan that is best suited to the individual’s situation.
The treatment plan is a “living” document that details all the client’s problems, goals, and tasks that they will achieve to reach their desired goals. It is constantly updated, revised, and adjusted to meet the client’s goals and progress throughout treatment.
For long-term treatment success, it is vital to have continued support. We prepare the individual for the real world, by incorporating attendance in outside support groups. Thus, the individual already possesses one of the great tools to utilize after IOP completion.
To provide the highest chances of success, Meridian Mental Health utilizes not only Personalized care approach but a Team-care approach as well.
During their treatment stay, each client is assigned a highly trained treatment team that includes a physician, nurse, primary counselor, case manager, and nutritionist.
This team is responsible for assessing and working with each client to establish both an individualized plan of care and aftercare recommendations.
Who Is This Program Recommended For?
Intensive Outpatient Program treatment is the next natural progression after a client completes our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
Meridian Mental Health offers an entire Continuum of Care, in which clients “step down” from a higher, more intensive level of care (PHP) to lower levels of care (IOP), in which clients progressively decrease their treatment and increase their freedom and independence.
Upon completion of treatment, clients can return to a more functional and healthy life.
